Dear Residents,

The Chinese New Year is approaching. Some of you may be planning for a vacation overseas as a result of the long weekend from 21 to 24 January 2012. Our Chinese residents may be busy shopping festive goods, exchanging new notes, making visitations, sourcing for car rental packages etc. We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate the importance of keeping vigilant and taking crime prevention measures for a safer festive celebration.

The Electronic Police Centre (ePC) was launched by the Singapore Police Force as an online platform for Members of Public to perform simple electronic transactions, at their convenience, without having to physically visit a Neighbourhood Police Centre.

On the evening of 7 Jan (Sat), 137 senior citizens gathered at the Multi Purpose Hall between Blocks 357 and 359 (Yung An Road) for the Taman Jurong Lunar New Year Hong Bao for Senior Citizens Event organised by Zone C Residents’ Committee.

Mr and Mrs Tharman were present to interact with the residents and distribute the Hong Baos and goodie bags.

During Christmas season, people gather with family and friends to enjoy a festive meal and exchange gifts as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. In Taman Jurong Zone E, more than 400 residents gathered in front of the sculptured garden between blk 337C and D to celebrate this joyful festival on 18 Dec 2011. Among them, about 100 residents came from the needy family.

Mr Goh Peng Tong, BBM, Chairman of Taman Jurong CCC was invited as Guest of Honour for this event. Despite heavy downpour, it did not stop the fun & laughter that were prepared for our dear residents. 

There were game corner which educate residents against crime prevention, art and craft corner that allows parents and their kids to bond together to transform their creativity into beautiful  handycrafts. Of course not forgetting Santa Claus is the star for the night. Mr Santa Claus goes around the floor to give away sweets & chocolates to all residents. Another key highlight in this event was the puppet show. Mr Puppet had brought fun and laughter to the residents. Finally the Christmas party ended with couple of lucky winners from the lucky draw. Merry Christmas to residents of Taman Jurong Zone E.

Dear Bicycle Owners,

 It is every bicycle owner’s responsibility to ensure his bicycle is properly secured to prevent it from being a target of theft. This year, the Police have noted an increase in the number of bicycle thefts.

Youth Executive Committee

Youth Club
Taman Jurong youth residents aged 12 – 35 years old are all part of the Taman Jurong Youth Club. Its committee, Taman Jurong CC Youth Executive Committee (YEC) comprises approximately 30 members aged 15 to 35 years old who are elected by the Youth Club members to serve the needs of the youth. The YEC organizes events for fellow youths and also the community in general.

Who is eligible to join YEC?
As long as you are between 15-35 years old inclusive, you are eligible! You need not be living in Taman Jurong.

How much commitment is needed? How can I contribute?
Meetings are held monthly. You may help out in events that are organized by fellow members. And you can also propose to organize any projects or events of your interest.
