One Community Walk

Some 85,000 participants took part in the One Community Walk event, held at 75 locations islandwide on Sunday morning and Taman Jurong was one of them. Minister Tharman flagged off residents of Taman Jurong, Jurong Central and Yuhua totalling 4000 from Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden. A total distance of 2.5KM was covered and together with the rest of the 74 locations islandwide, this is one of the biggest displays of community bonding – to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the People’s Association (PA), and support the Youth Olympic Games.

The One Community Walk is an unprecedented nation-wide mass walking event engaging more than 80,000 residents from all the constituencies in Singapore. This event is the largest synchronized mass walking event in Singapore to date and one of the biggest displays by the community in support of the inaugural Singapore Youth Olympic Games.
