Working Together For An Even Better Neighbourhood

Our residents staying near Block 153 would have noticed the lighting blackout at the nearby carpark on 14 Jun night. We thank civic-minded residents such as Mr Patrick Chua who alerted us to the technical fault. In fact, our Zone A Residents’ Committee Vice-Chair, Mr Gopal and his member, Juliet, happened to be at Block 153 that night at 8pm when all the lights at the carpark went off. They too helped to alert the authorities immediately and at 10pm, one Indian technician was checking all the lamp posts one by one.

Following DPM Tharman’s request, HDB had further mobilised its lighting contractor and conducted a joint inspection. All the lights have been repaired and are now in good working order. HDB’s checks on the lighting on the night of 16 June 11 also confirmed that the lights are working well at night. To-date, no further feedback of faulty lightings at the said carpark has been received.

Kudos to our residents, grassroots leaders, and HDB officers for working closely together to address the technical failures of the carpark lightings.
